Day trip to Ouarzazate

Day 1 

MARRAKECH – KASBAH AIT BEN HADOU – OUARZAZATE

Commencing with an early start, our departure from Marrakech before 8:00 am initiates an enthralling day ahead. Our route traverses the High Atlas Mountains, a breathtaking journey that captivates with the rugged splendor and lofty heights of these peaks. As we wind through the mountainous roads in our minibus, the mesmerizing scenery will undoubtedly keep you glued to the window, offering glimpses of Berber villages nestled along the path.

Pausing for photo opportunities amidst the elevated landscapes, we gradually make our way to the illustrious Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Although a couple of hours will transpire before our arrival, the stunning scenery will persist throughout the journey. The fortified village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou boasts several market areas and merchant houses, all of which we will explore under the guidance of our tour.

This historic structure, akin to Ouarzazate—the subsequent stop on our tour—holds significant appeal for Hollywood film crews and production companies. Evident reasons underscore its allure as a backdrop for films set in biblical times, ancient Arabian legends, or eras spanning thousands of years. The likes of "Sodom and Gomorrah" (1963), "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975), and "The Jewel of the Nile" (1985) have all utilized the ancient fortified village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou.

Continuing our day of exploration, we proceed to Ouarzazate, where we embark on a city tour and venture into the film studios. Ouarzazate has carved a niche in the hearts of film productions, drawn by its antiquated structures, golden landscapes, and stunning scenery. Roaming among ancient Kasbahs and golden clay edifices, you might even encounter a Hollywood film crew in action, effortlessly lending a sense of time travel to the experience.
